Birthdays have a way of forcing reflection. They act as natural checkpoints—moments to step back, take inventory, and ask whether the direction you’re moving in still aligns with where you want to go. This year, I’ve been thinking less about age and more about growth: how my perspective has shifted, and how those shifts show up in my work as a consultant.
Consulting has taught me that progress rarely comes from massive, dramatic changes. Instead, it’s the accumulation of small, thoughtful adjustments—better questions, clearer frameworks, stronger communication. Over the past year, I’ve learned to slow down, listen more carefully, and approach problems with curiosity rather than urgency. Those habits have made me a better consultant, but also a more grounded decision-maker in general.
What I appreciate most at this birthday milestone is the ability to reflect with intention. In consulting, regular check-ins are essential to ensure strategy still matches reality. Birthdays serve the same purpose. They’re a reminder to recalibrate, set clearer priorities, and move forward with purpose. As I head into the next year, that mindset—thoughtful growth, adaptability, and reflection—will continue to shape both my work and how I approach new challenges.
